How we do it.

Assess with Edgerton
With your team's knowledge and consent, Edgerton measures the agreed work on the computers you choose for ten business days. You get a report and a proposal. If there is no clear ROI path, the assessment fee is refunded and the report is still yours.

Build on EdgeKeeper
If you go ahead, we set up your EdgeKeeper server, connect the tools you approve and build the work in the proposal to an agreed scope and date. Each question runs read-only, and a person approves a specific change before it happens.

Run and support it
We look after the server, the connections and the automations we built. Your team works in Switchboard and can reach a named lead for help. New work is scoped and agreed before it is added.

What is included: assessment, scoped build, the EdgeKeeper server and ongoing support
The assessment. Edgerton measures how the work really happens before anyone recommends a build. A front desk retyping insurance details, a billing team chasing the same reports every Friday, a manager rebuilding a quote from old jobs: those are the kinds of jobs it finds and puts a value on.
The scoped build. The proposal names the workflows, connections, permissions, price and delivery date. Nothing outside that scope is added without your agreement. When you need something specific, such as an app or a new integration, it is a custom build with its own business case.
The EdgeKeeper server. EdgeKeeper is our software on a dedicated Microsoft Azure server that we set up and run for your business. It has no public internet address and restricted outbound access. System credentials stay on the server, and access is recorded for review.
Ongoing support. Your team works in Switchboard, where it can make as many read-only AI agents as it wants. We monitor and maintain the system, fix problems with what we built, and a named lead reviews how it is working.

Managed AI vs SaaS AI tools
A SaaS AI tool gives each person a login. Someone in your business still has to decide what it can see, connect it to your systems, write the rules, and notice when it gets things wrong. In a small business that job usually falls to whoever is most curious, on top of their real work.
A managed AI service moves that work to a team whose job it is. The AI model behind EdgeKeeper is our engine, and it may change over time. What makes the setup private is the controlled layer around it: scoped access, read-only questions, records of access, and a person approving changes.
AI features inside tools you already pay for, such as Microsoft 365, raise the same questions. Who can use them, what can they reach, and who checks? Ask whoever manages those settings today before you add more.

How managed AI is priced
There are three parts. The assessment is a fixed fee, agreed before anything is installed. The build has a fixed price in the proposal, set from what the assessment found. The ongoing service is a monthly fee for running and supporting the system.
We do not publish a rate card, because the scope differs from one business to the next. Compare the full cost against the time the work saves, and keep estimated time apart from actual cash savings.

Who a managed AI service provider is for
A managed AI services provider suits a business that wants AI to do real work but has no one whose job is to run it. That is most small and mid-sized firms: dental and medical practices, law and accounting firms, trades, and the IT providers who look after them.
When you compare AI managed services companies, ask four things. Do they measure your work before they recommend a build? Do they run and support what they build, or hand it off? Is your data yours in the contract, with export rights? Will they tell you when a build is not worth it?

What are AI services?
AI services is a broad term for any work where a provider uses AI on your behalf: answering questions, drafting documents, sorting email or pulling reports together. A managed AI service adds the upkeep. Someone owns the access rules, the connections and the fixes over time.
What does a managed AI service provider do?
It finds where AI is worth using in your business, builds it into your systems, and keeps it working. That includes the server, the connections, the automations in your proposal, and support for your team. You do not have to run it yourself.
Is this the same as AI managed IT services?
No. A managed IT provider looks after your computers, network and security. A managed AI service looks after the AI layer: what it can reach, what it builds, and how your team uses it. The two can work side by side, and IT providers can also deliver our service to their own clients.
Is managed AI a service or a SaaS product?
A service. With a SaaS AI tool you buy a login and your team does the setup, the rules and the fixing. With managed AI, the provider does that work and stays responsible for it. Switchboard is software your team uses, but it comes set up and supported as part of the service.
Can AI agents take actions on their own?
Agents in Switchboard are read-only. They read, report, keep notes and build dashboards. Automations that change something are scoped and built with you, and a person approves a specific change before it runs. Access is recorded for review.
